Upcoming 2013 drama thriller movie The Counselor is directed by Ridley Scott, from the first creative movie screenplay by Cormac McCarthy. The Counselor is set to be released in the United States on October 25, 2013 by 20th Century Fox. The movie is rated R for "grisly images, graphic violence, strong sexual content, and language". The movie will be dedicated to the memory of the director's brother Tony Scott, who had taken his own life during production, and Matthew Baker, an assistant director on the movie who has since died.The screenplay written by Pulitzer Prize-winner McCarthy will also be available in book form on October 15. The original score by Daniel Pemberton will be released digitally October 22.The Counselor will be the closing night movie at the 2013 Morelia movie Carnival and will also play the Cork movie Carnival. The London premiere was held on October 3, 2013 in Leicester Square. The New York City premiere was held on October 9, while the Los Angeles premiere is scheduled to be held October 22, 2013.
