Roy is a latest 2014 Hindi romantic action thriller movie directed by debutante Vikramjit Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series. The movie will feature Ranbir Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Arjun Rampal in lead roles, and is slated for a June 20, 2014 release.
Actor Ranbir Kapoor was signed on for the title role. Despite initial reports of Kapoor only featuring in a cameo appearance in the movie, it was confirmed by the makers that Kapoor plays one of the two male leads in the movie. Kapoor has been reported to have charged INR15 crore (US$2.3 million) for the movie. The female lead was initially offered to actress Deepika Padukone, who rejected the movie. Jacqueline Fernandez was later cast as a replacement, who features in a double role. Arjun Rampal was next signed on for the role of a filmmaker as the second male lead, as he was best suited for the role. According to reports, there will be one more female lead in the movie, who is yet to be cast.
